The Premier Soccer League confirmed that the draw for this year’s Telkom Knockout Round of 16 will be taking place next week.
With the first trophy of the season, the MTN8, finding a new home over the weekend when Cape Town City face SuperSport United, there will be no time wasted in starting the process for the next piece of silverware.
Last year’s winners, City, will find out who their title defence will begin against, with the draw set to take place at 13h00 on Monday afternoon.
No team has managed to defend the trophy successfully since Kaizer Chiefs won it back in 2009 and 2010, and Steve Komphela would love to triumph this season given the growing pressure on him at present.
The draw will take place in Johannesburg, with all 16 Absa Premiership teams going into the draw.
