The Siya crew has been informed that Mzikayise Mashaba is still on Mamelodi Sundowns’ books, despite indications that the two parties had parted ways.
Mashaba’s deal was set to officially come to an end on June 30, 2018, but after a dispute between the player and Sundowns, it was reported that the club had released him from his contract.
It was reported in October this year that Sundowns and Mashaba were in a money dispute regarding his contract which was terminated by the club, with the player’s camp arguing at the time that the 28-year-old should be compensated for the remaining months of his contract.
The Siya crew has since been informed by a reliable source that Mashaba is still on the books of the Brazilians, with sources adding that the player will only receive his clearance from the club once Masandawana are done paying the midfielder out of his contract.
The player is still currently on the mend following an injury to his foot and will be eager to take the next step of his professional career away from Sundowns once he recovers enough to begin training.
