Kaizer Chiefs Update As Injury List Grows

Kaizer Chiefs injury list doesn’t look to be getting any shorter, with Steve Komphela’s options for selection being very limited as he prepares to face Mamelodi Sundowns.

Take a look at Chiefs' current injury list - and their recovery time - in the gallery above

The Glamour Boys haven’t had the best of luck with injuries this season after losing the likes of Tsepo Masilela, Ramahlwe Mphahlele and Emmanuel Letlotlo long-term, and now Kgotso Moleko has joined them on the list of players that probably won’t play again in 2017.

Alongside the aforementioned players, Chiefs have a host of other injury issues to deal with at the minute, with Gustavo Paez ruled out until sometime in November and Teenage Hadebe still over a fortnight away from being able to make his Amakhosi debut.

The club gave an update on their official website today, explaining the current situation for some of their injured stars.

They said -

Teenage Hadebe:
“Recovering from an ankle injury. The Zimbabwean has started jogging though and should start light training in about two weeks.”

Lorenzo Gordinho:
“Recovering from broken ribs and will still be three weeks on the sidelines before resuming training.”

Gustavo Páez:
“The Venezuelan striker will be in a protective boot for another three weeks before resuming his rehabilitation to full fitness.”

Kgotso Moleko:
“Suffered a knee ligament in the Sparta Macufe Cup last weekend. Moleko will be in a brace and will be out for six to eight weeks.”

Chiefs take on Masandawana next week when the Absa Premiership returns, and have only three fully fit defenders as Daniel Cardoso and Sibusiso Khumalo make their way back to being 100%.
